Parafencing Program

Indysabre Wheelchair Fencing Program (Parafencing) is designed to for athletes with physical impairments.
The International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation is an international sports organization that governs sports for athletes with disabilities. Parafencing has been part of the summer Paralympic Games since 1960. Fencers compete in wheelchairs that are locked in place a fixed distance apart. They may lean forward or back but otherwise remain in place. The chair does not move. Students learn the rules of the game and the skills required to succeed. The focus is upon blade work (fencing technique) and tactical strategies.
